There is always a festival going on in every season in Kyoto, and summer is no exception. Tanabata is the go-to festival for Kyoto residents every year, and this year the organizers have added new locations – Kitano Kamiya River, Nijō Castle, and Umekoji – in addition to the usual Hori River and Kamo River, so you enjoy the festival from different refreshing angles! The event will be open to the public in the first half of August.
Apart from the fun activities, there will also be a limited edition yōkan (a Japanese sweet delicacy) available on sale, which is designed to look like the milky way in galaxy! We are certain that it will taste as good as it looks!
Be sure to drop by this fun cultural event!
