All sakura-lovers take note: Japan Weather Association has just announced their forecast for the cherry blossom bloom periods for each region in Japan! As we are based in Kansai, we will pick up the forecast for Kansai here in this post.
Sakura in Kobe and Osaka are predicted to start blooming on 1st April, and in Kyoto a day early on 31st March. Though most people go for hanami (flower-viewing) during full bloom, the budding of sakura represents the beginning of spring in Japan, and many folks do make it a point to go for hanami on the first bloom as well to welcome the lovely season.
hough there are basically no lack of hanami spots throughout Japan, Kyoto boasts the most beautiful viewing spots of them all. Paired with traditional Japanese architecture and beautiful natural landscape, hanami in Kyoto is simply a sight to behold!
