When shooting photos in Kyoto, it seems like a rite of passage for couples to have a few traditional kimono shots. After all, most people want their appearance to match the their surroundings! But at the same time, you also would not want to look like you just came out of an old Japanese period film, so most couples style their hair in a modern way and brides keep their makeup natural, with a dash of red lipstick.
Our dress consultant and professional kimono dresser Ms. Yukari shared with us photos of her lovely clients Vincent and Amanda, who have just wrapped up their pre-wedding photo shoot yesterday. The weather was co-operative and their photos turned out absolutely stunning!
For Catherine and Bruce, who wore kimonos for the first time, shooting in the early summer morning (in high humidity too!) wearing layers of heavy silk was a tiring affair. Nonetheless, the lovely couple enjoyed themselves so much that even our photo shoot team got infected with their immense joy!
