Held from March to 10th May, Parasophia is a large-scale international modern art festival featuring artwork by 36 groups of artists from 21 countries. The artwork can be seen in housing estates, schools, even along riversides, apart from Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art (KMMA), where most of the artwork can be found. Even the museum itself is a grand masterpiece, blending Western and Japanese architectural designs in a single building. A very suitable place for exhibiting international art!
‘Universal Cool Japan’ is USJ’s latest offering that was commenced in 23rd January this year. Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Attack on Titan, and Evangelion – the highest selling animes and games worldwide – gathered together to form one big new attraction in the theme park. Characters come to life in the form of giant sculptures, and scenes from the respective virtual worlds were recreated in the form of attractions.
Hanatouro, which means ‘path of flowers and lights’, is held every year in early spring. A temple representative of Kyoto in Higashiyama district will set up LED lights around the antique constructions and streets. The lights bounce off the pavement, giving the illusion a dazzling walkway and a warm glow around the area. Don’t miss out on Kyoto’s exclusive illumination event!
Everyone knows that Kyoto is home to an abundance of shrines. But do you know that there are plenty of shrines that are not just open for praying? On fixed dates every month, stalls selling miscellaneous goods and food spring up around 40 over shrines that open up their grounds for bazaars (known as ichi in Kyoto). Allow us to introduce Tenjin-ichi, located in Kitano Tenmangu, the most prominent shrine bazaars of them all!
We opened the tourist salon “Grand Pages” in Kyoto Sanjogokomachi in fall 2014.
Then we opened the wedding photo service “Grand Pages Overseas Wedding” in “Grand Pages.”
To celebrate the opening of new service, we held the Asia x Japan Exchange Party on Dec 25, 2014.
Many people from Asian countries took part in the party.
